grant & i moved fast.
we met in july of 2011 in the JJ's parking lot. started dating in september, the 23rd to be exact :) got engaged in january under the banyan tree in hawaii, the day after his parents 30 year wedding anniversary. got married in july in front of all of our family and friends, & then had our sweet baby arrow in october.
it has been a total whirlwind of a ride, but hey, when you know, you know.

the past three years of my life have been the best years of my life. each day with that handsome husband of mine is like a dream. in the lottery of husbands, grant is the jackpot; sweet, thoughtful, strong, what more could a girl ask for? i could write a list a mile long with the things i love about him, but i'll save that sappy love fest for the privacy of our own home.
happy anniversary my love.
thank you for loving me just as i am. thank you for arrow. you are one of the most hard-working, level headed men I've ever met & i feel so incredibly blessed to call you mine. thank you for the 36 anniversary bouquets that have shown up on our doorstep month after month. i've said it before & i'll say it again, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. here is to 3 years! can't wait for 50 :)
i love you. xx.

in with the new...

finally I can post (and gush) about the newest member of the schmantaggiony family!
yeah, schmantaggiony is a word.
don't look it up, because I'm lying.
(schmeecklegrantsalvaggionefry) get it?
ANYWAYS…
Lucy Harper Salvaggione is here!
she arrived at 10:10 on September 6th.
& sheesh are we glad she is here. she is such a littleTINY blessing. she has a full head of dark hair, just like her mama & blue eyes that'll melt your heart.

I must admit, i don't remember Arrow ever being that small. it is all such a blur to me, I remember experiences like taking her home from the hospital in a carseat that looked too oversized and ominous to be right (it was.) or waking up to find her cuddled up against grants arm and thinking, wow, she is the tiniest thing he has ever snuggled with. without a picture on hand though, when i close my eyes, i only see the almost year old cutie with a tooth-filled grin who is currently sleeping beside me. Watching Hillary do it all over again is honestly, a bit frightening. She is handling it so beautifully, with Abel running around like a cute+crazy toddler & Lucy needing her near constant attention; i've said it before & i'll say it again, she was made for this. motherhood just suits her.

as frightening as it is to me though, it also makes me want to expand my family once again & attempt to do what she is doing as well as she is doing it! I'm competitive, i need to make sure my skill set is up to par :) i think that day will arrive in good time though, & it will slap me in the face with the realization that i AM ready. for now, i'll just get my baby safely to one year {which is insanely close,} hold Lucy when i am having baby fever & watch Hillary + Chris take on this whole new world, helping and learning as much as I possibly can.

a pretty little bridal shower!

i did it! i successfully threw my first bridal shower, ALONE! my sisters and i, we are party planners, decoration do-ers & menu makers. together. six hands helping pull shindigs together since 2010.

however, for this little bridal shower, i was a lone ranger.
my wonderful friend madi asked me to be her maid of honor months ago & I've been planning this party ever since. the party was at her beautiful home in Westminister & she gave me free reign on decor, food & games, so i ran with it! it was a lovely gathering, if i do says myself, with just the right amount of love + laughter.
[ me falling off of the chair helped with that i think ]
friends and family from all over attended to celebrate the stunning bride to be
{and drink countless mimosas }
here are some pictures from the day!
congratulations madi + jason! 51 days & counting!
